Mike Merriman Memorial Award
An award has been set up at Vancouver Island University in Mike's memory. Each year Resource Management Officer Technology diploma graduates who are continuing their education into the degree program—third year, in the same year will be eligible to apply. The $500.00 award is applied to tuition.
Criteria for the award:
The RMOT diploma graduate will be someone who works hard to maintain a "B" average; who demonstrates exceptional dedication to wildlife conservation through volunteering in the program or in the community during the first two years; and who is a team worker among RMOT peers.
Mike's goal was to graduate from this degree program. The recipient is selected by Vancouver Island University and the award is presented by our family. The award, which is a legacy for Mike, has been presented each year starting in 2007.
